Slay the Summer Slowdown

Slay the Summer Slowdown

Unless you’re a seasonal business, it’s common for summer to bring lulls in traffic, sales, volume, etc. While it can be a bit of a stressor, it doesn’t have to feel like the tipping point to the end. With the right tools in place and some good planning, summertime can become a source of inspiration and preparation for growth. Here are a few of our favorite suggestions for making the most out of the summer season.

  1. Optimize planning time

Use downtime to put plans and systems in place that will help you and your business thrive when business picks back up. This might look like creating a strategy, moving to a new platform, or any other important tasks that are made harder during heavy volume times.

  1. Clear out your to-do list

We all have them, the items at the end of the to-do list that keep getting bumped. They’re not as important as the top of the list, but they loom larger the longer you put them off. Clearing the list puts you at an advantage during busier seasons and gives you peace of mind when you’re taking downtime for yourself.

  1. Use your imagination

We know that the summer blues can feel like a bad vibe, but they also create a perfect opportunity to dream big! Sometimes, when we’re in the weeds and staying busy with clients or customers, it’s hard to take a step back and envision what might be next. Consider creating a mood board or vision board to refer back to the rest of the season and all through the upcoming year!

  1. Take a Break

One of the reasons for the summer slowdown is that it’s a great time to take a break! Although a shift in business can cause stress, it can also provide space to take a little time off to recharge and rejuvenate for when things pick back up. Remember, you own the business, so you make the rules! Plan some downtime for yourself in moments when you can afford to step away.
